Apex Skills Academy is designed for middle and high school students who want to strengthen the habits, practical strategies, confidence, independence, and leadership skills that support success in school and beyond.
Students do not need to be struggling academically to benefit. The program also helps strong students become more organized, responsible, intentional, and prepared for increasing expectations.
No. Middle and high school students participate in separate, age-appropriate groups so discussions, examples, activities, and challenges can be adapted to their specific stage of development and school experience.
No. Apex Skills Academy is not academic tutoring, homework supervision, or subject-specific instruction.
The program focuses on the skills behind successful learning and greater independence—including habits, organization, time management, study strategies, test preparation, communication, decision-making, personal responsibility, and leadership.
Throughout the 10-week program, students work on goal setting, habit building, time management, procrastination, effective studying, test preparation, asking for help, communication, personal leadership, and decision-making.
During the final session, students bring these skills together to create their own Skills for Success Playbook and First 30 Days Plan.
Apex Skills Academy’s core student program runs for 10 weeks. Students meet once a week for approximately 60 minutes.
Classes are intentionally small, with approximately 10 students per group. The small-group format creates opportunities for discussion, participation, practice, and individual engagement.
Sessions are designed to be interactive rather than lecture-based.
Students explore a practical concept, participate in activities and discussions, practice strategies, and identify ways to apply what they've learned to their own school experience.
The goal is for students to leave each session with something they can use—not simply something they heard.
Students may be encouraged to practice a strategy between sessions, but Apex Skills Academy isn't designed to add another heavy homework burden.
Between-session activities are intended to help students apply what they're learning to real situations and begin turning new strategies into habits.
Not at all. Apex Skills Academy is designed for skill development, not remediation. Students may be doing well academically and still want to improve their organization, time management, study effectiveness, confidence, independence, communication, or leadership skills.
